Opply has raised $7.5m (about £5.6m) in a round led by Chalfen Ventures, with Index Ventures, Anthemis, Entrepreneurs First, In This Together and Ventures Together participating, to bring its AI operating platform to more consumer packaged goods brands.
Opply was founded by chief executive Helen Murphy and Martin Postel. It builds software for consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies, the food, drink and household brands whose operations depend on fragmented networks of suppliers, co-manufacturers and logistics providers.
The platform combines AI agents with proprietary data, a supplier network and a financing product. It covers sourcing, procurement, payments and supply chain management. Opply says it differs from analytics tools and supplier marketplaces because its agents carry out the work themselves, managing inventory, coordinating production runs and overseeing deliveries with little manual input.
The deal
Chalfen Ventures led the $7.5m round. Five other investors took part: Index Ventures, fintech specialist Anthemis, company builder Entrepreneurs First, In This Together and Ventures Together.
The round stage, valuation and the split between new and existing investors were not disclosed. Nor was the size of any debt facility behind Opply's financing product, which typically requires separate balance-sheet capital from an equity raise.
Use of funds
Opply said the money will take its platform to more CPG businesses, from early-stage challenger brands to larger multinational groups. Murphy said the company's technology does not just tell brands what to do but does the work, from sourcing to payments, and that the funding lets it offer that model to many more businesses.
Context
The round is a relatively small cheque in a market where capital for AI applications has concentrated in a few very large deals. UK companies took about $12bn of Europe's AI funding in the first half of 2026, much of it in mega-rounds for model builders and infrastructure.
Opply's pitch is vertical: agents built for one industry's workflows rather than a general-purpose assistant. A cap table that pairs Index with a fintech investor such as Anthemis points to embedded finance as part of the business model, with the platform earning from credit and payments as well as software.
The next milestones will be customer growth among larger brands and whether the financing side can scale without heavy dilution from future equity rounds.
