London fintech Quartz has closed a £2.75m pre-seed round led by Paris-based Daphni, with Outward VC and K Fund joining the register alongside angels including Kantox founder Philippe Gelis. The company is tracking more than £10m of member assets after testing since the first quarter of 2026.
Quartz was founded in 2025 by André Silva, previously head of global expansion at Revolut, and Mateus Mesquita Alves, formerly investment product lead at N26. The pair are building a consolidated view of a user's finances with personalised guidance layered on top.
Daphni led the round, which was announced on 16 September. Outward VC and Spain's K Fund participated, and the angel list runs to operators rather than institutions: Gelis, who founded currency management platform Kantox, and Gilles BianRosa, a former chief product officer at both N26 and Kraken. Valuation and the equity stake taken were not disclosed.
The product targets the gap between traditional wealth management, which delivers tailored advice at a price most retail customers will not pay, and standardised retail products that offer little individual guidance. Quartz is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority as an Account Information Service Provider, the permission that lets it pull account data rather than hold client money.
Through proprietary connectors, users bring pensions, ISAs, savings and investments into a single app. An AI assistant called Charlie reads that position against market developments and surfaces insights relevant to the individual portfolio, with users able to question it directly about their holdings.
The traction figures are early but specific. Quartz has been testing since the first quarter of 2026 and says more than £10m in member assets is currently tracked through the app. The team numbers ten people across London, Barcelona and Porto.
"Small differences in how your money works compound into enormous differences in how your life goes and that shouldn't be reserved for a small niche of people," Silva said, describing compounding as the most powerful force in finance.
Distribution is deliberately throttled. Following the UK launch the company is onboarding waitlist members in batches and by invitation, with the app live on the App Store and Google Play and access widening gradually.
At £2.75m the cheque is modest by UK fintech standards, but the composition is telling. A French lead investor, a Spanish co-investor and a distributed team across three countries point to a company built for European expansion from the outset, with the UK as the first regulated market rather than the only one.
The bet for the register is whether an account aggregation layer with an AI assistant can convert tracked assets into revenue. Quartz has not disclosed a pricing model, and the £10m currently visible through the app is other institutions' money, not its own.
