Humanoid raises $152m Series A at a $1.35bn valuation to become Europe's first humanoid-robotics unicorn

London-based Humanoid has closed a $152m Series A led by Prime Movers Lab, minting a $1.35bn post-money valuation and what backers call Europe's first pure-play humanoid-robotics unicorn — with strategic cheques from Bosch and Schaeffler landing on the register.

Humanoid raises $152m Series A at a $1.35bn valuation to become Europe's first humanoid-robotics unicorn

Humanoid, a London startup building AI-powered industrial robots, has raised $152m in a Series A round that values the company at $1.35bn post-money. It is a rare jump from first institutional round straight to unicorn status, and the largest Series A ever recorded for a humanoid-first robotics company in Europe.

The company designs general-purpose robots for logistics, manufacturing and retail settings. Rather than chase full bipedal locomotion from the outset, Humanoid has prioritised wheel-based models, a choice aimed at reaching commercial deployment — and revenue — faster than rivals still perfecting how their machines walk.

Prime Movers Lab led the round. The more telling detail for the cap table is who joined: industrial giants Schaeffler and Bosch, alongside Fubon Financial Holding Venture Capital and Aglaé Ventures, the investment vehicle linked to the Arnault family. Strategic corporates taking equity this early signals intent to pilot and buy the product, not merely to back it financially.

That composition matters. A Series A that lands a company at a $1.35bn valuation compresses the usual funding ladder and hands founders a steep price to grow into. It also front-loads the register with strategic investors whose interests — supply agreements, manufacturing partnerships, board influence — differ from those of a pure financial fund. Founders will be watching dilution closely against the follow-on capital a hardware business of this kind inevitably requires.

Humanoid's raise arrives as capital floods into embodied AI globally, with US players commanding multibillion-dollar valuations. Europe has lacked a scaled contender; a London company now claims that slot, at least on paper. The valuation bakes in enormous expectations for a firm still early in commercial rollout.

The near-term test is conversion: turning strategic backers into paying customers and moving pilots into volume deployment before the next round. Hardware margins, unit economics and the pace of factory adoption will determine whether the unicorn label holds when Humanoid returns to market — and whether the strategics on its cap table become an advantage or a constraint.
